I have a lot of tabs open in my head. Ideas swirl around and around. They get me to laugh and cry, leaving me entertained, inspired, depressed, curious, and even bewildered. Most of the tabs that get me thinking the most and really hold my interest have to do with my career as an educator. Most of these files are locked away in a personal filing cabinet in my brain. Although I work with the public for a living, I am also painfully introverted. I wear my work-face and play the part. I actively engage with my students and interact with their families and I do it well. However, at the end of the day, it leaves me absolutely exhausted. The LAST thing I want to do is waste my waning energy on small-talk and chit chat, but ask me about teaching children math? Okay! Game on! I can geek out on teaching for a few more hours!
